Eighty five percent of the Colorado crop is jointed, compared to 87 percent last year, and the five-year average of 94 percent. Twenty four percent of the crop is headed, compared to 14 percent last week, 19 percent last year, and the five-year average of 40 percent.

Total U.S. crop condition is significantly worse than this time last year. Winter wheat crop condition in Kansas is 25 percent very poor, Texas is 51 percent very poor, and Oklahoma is 45 percent very poor. Harvest has already started in northwest Texas and southwest Oklahoma, with very poor yields but very high quality.
