Colorado Wheat Response to Ardent Mills Announcement that Headquarters will Locate in Colorado

July 16, 2013, Fort Collins, Colo. - We welcome Ardent Mills and their new headquarters to Colorado.  Not only is Colorado a great place for their employees to live, but Colorado is the largest source of the hard white winter wheat Snowmass, developed at Colorado State University, grown by Colorado wheat farmers, and milled to make Ultragrain® whole wheat white flour and Ultragrain® High Performance Flour.  We look forward to working with Ardent Mills to make Colorado’s agriculture economy even stronger. The whole grain revolution can happen in Colorado, where we develop and grow value-added hard white winter wheat varieties, benefitting Colorado wheat farmers and the state’s diversified economy and providing nutritional benefits to the consumer. The whole value chain is located in Colorado, from research and development, to farmers, to handlers, milling, baking, and consumers. Press release from Colorado Governor Hickenlooper’s office
