Stripe Rust Found Near Wiggins; Impact Expected to Be Limited

From Ned Tisserat, CSU:

I have been informed that stripe rust was found in a field just north of Wiggins.  This isn’t totally unexpected since we went through a couple of weeks of relatively cool, wet weather.  This infection probably occurred a couple of weeks ago.  Nevertheless, this outbreak appears to be very localized. The weather the next 10 days  is predicted to be fairly warm and relatively dry; not very conducive for stripe rust.  My experience is that if rust picks up after flowering it doesn’t cause yield loss.
