CAWG to Host Three Risk Management Agency Updates and Crop Insurance Forums

March 3, 2009, Centennial, Colo. – The Colorado Association of Wheat Growers (CAWG) will host three Risk Management Agency Updates and Crop Insurance Forums on March 17 and 18 in Lamar, Limon and Yuma.

All Colorado wheat producers and other agricultural producers are invited to attend these meetings at no cost.

Rebecca Davis, Director of the Topeka Regional Office for the Risk Management Agency (RMA) will provide an update on RMA program coverage and participate in a dialogue on crop insurance issues with meeting participants. She will also address the issue of crop insurance coverage for land emerging from the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). This is an issue in Colorado since 714,636 acres of CRP expire in 2009 and 450,283 acres expire in 2010.

Tuesday, March 17
10:00 a.m. Cow Palace, Lamar
Meeting ending with complimentary lunch
6:00 p.m. Hub City Senior Center, Limon
Meeting beginning with complimentary dinner

Wednesday, March 18
10:00 a.m. Community Center, Yuma
Meeting ending with complimentary lunch

CAWG is a voluntary membership association that lobbies on behalf of wheat growers at the state and national levels of government and provides special programs and benefits to dues paying members.
