2011 County Meeting and Election Schedule

You are invited to attend and participate in a county business meeting and elections sponsored by the Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee (CWAC) and Colorado Association of Wheat Growers (CAWG).  See meeting schedule below.

This is your opportunity to participate in the elective process of both CWAC and CAWG and to provide input and take part in the organizations that are working for you.

If production agriculture is to survive, farmers have two simple choices: get involved or take your chances. CWAC and CAWG both work hard for you, but we need your input and participation.

CWAC President Dan Anderson of Haxtun will discuss how funding from the producer-approved assessment is being invested in education, research and promotion programs, the hard white wheat marketing program with ConAgra and public-private wheat breeding/research collaborations.

CAWG President Chris Tallman of Brandon will present an update on state and national legislative activities, including state budget issues affecting ag exemptions, national issues on the horizon such as the 2012 Farm Bill, and information on biotechnology he is sharing with the public as a national wheat spokesman for biotechnology.

CWAC/CAWG Executive Director Darrell Hanavan will review the current U.S. and world wheat situation.

All attendees will receive a copy of the recently-published Wheat Production Guide by CSU.
