CAWG Legislative Alert!

State Reps. Jon Becker, R-Fort Morgan, and Jerry Sonnenberg, R-Sterling, will join Gov. John Hickenlooper as he signs House Bill 1005 into law on Monday, May 23.  The bill restores the state sales tax exemption on agricultural compounds, and will be effective July 1, 2011. The sales tax exemption will save Colorado wheat and agricultural producers $3.7 million annually and also benefit agricultural chemical dealers and our rural infrastructure and economy.

We would love to have a substantial showing of farmers and agribusinesses there to show that this tax affected our businesses and that we appreciate this bill. Please be there!

The signing will take place at Aero Applicators in Sterling on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
