Colorado Winter Wheat Crop Progress Report/Crop Production Report

Colorado winter wheat crop condition improved this week, with 76 percent in fair, good or excellent condition, up from 65 percent last week. One hundred percent of the Colorado crop is headed. Seventy-nine percent is turning color, compared to 59 percent last week, 92 percent last year, and the five year average of 93 percent. Thirty-four percent is ripe, compared to 17 percent last week, 42 percent last year, and the five year average of 57 percent. USDA estimates Colorado winter wheat at 21 percent harvested, compared to nine percent last week, 19 percent last year, and the five year average of 26 percent.

U.S. crop condition remained about the same this week.  Wheat harvest is 98 percent complete in Texas, 100 percent in Oklahoma, 84 percent complete in Kansas, and 2 percent complete in Nebraska.
