November 26, 2012 Colorado Winter Wheat Crop Condition

In the November 26, 2012 Crop Progress Report, USDA NASS estimated the Colorado 2013 Winter Wheat crop at 94 percent emerged, compared with 91 percent last week, 99 percent last year at this time, and the five-year average of 98 percent.

Eight percent of Colorado winter wheat was rated very poor, 26 percent was rated poor, 48 percent was rated fair, and 18 percent was rated good.

Across the U.S., 87 percent of winter wheat was rated in fair to excellent condition.

Thirty-nine percent of Colorado topsoil was very short on moisture, compared to 17 percent last year. Fifty-nine percent of Colorado subsoil was very short on moisture, compare with 20 percent last year.
