March 25, 2013 Colorado Winter Wheat Crop Condition Report

In the Colorado Crop Progress Report released Monday, March 25, USDA NASS rated 22 percent of Colorado winter wheat very poor, 25 percent poor, 41 percent fair, 12 percent good, and zero percent was rated excellent.  Last year at this time, 3 percent was considered very poor, 15 percent poor, 45 percent fair, 35 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.

Twenty-nine percent of Colorado topsoil was very short on moisture, compared to 8 percent at this time last year. Forty-eight percent of Colorado subsoil was very short on moisture, compare with 8 percent last year.
