COLORADO CROP PROGRESS – June 28, 2015

CROP PROGRESS AND CONDITION
WEEK ENDING JUNE 28, 2015
AGRICULTURAL SUMMARY: Sustained warm, dry conditions supported full-scale field operations and accelerated crop development in most localities. Harvesting activities for winter wheat occurred last week with modest progress observed. Scattered precipitation fell with the highest localized concentrations in eastern districts. While most crop condition ratings improved, several exceptions were observed. Reporters in the northeastern district noted locally heavy precipitation in some cases that resulted in some crop damage and drainage issues. Stored feed supplies were rated 1 percent very short, 4 percent short, 83 percent adequate, and 12 percent surplus. Sheep death loss was rated 64 percent average and 36 percent light. Cattle death loss was rated 1 percent heavy, 75 percent average, and 24 percent light.
