2018 CAWG Scholarship Applications Available

 

Fort Collins, Colo. – The Colorado Association of Wheat Growers (CAWG) will award two $1,000 scholarships. The applicant’s parents, grandparents, or legal guardians must be current or new members of CAWG OR the applicant must be nominated by a current member of CAWG. One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who plans to attend an accredited college, university, junior college or community college. The student must enter college the same year as their graduation from high school.

 

 

 

The second scholarship is the Larry K. Haynes CAWG Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a college sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student who is attending an accredited college, university, junior college or community college.

 

 

 

Students intending to major in agriculture-related fields are strongly urged to apply. Both scholarships will be one-year, non-renewable awards. The students must be classified as full time students and confirmation of enrollment is required by the college or university. This award may be given in addition to other grants and scholarships. The recipients will be chosen by a review panel.

Applicants must fill out and return the CAWG scholarship form no later than March 30, 2018. Two, one-page essays are required as part of the scholarship application.

 

 

 

The scholarship recipients will be announced in May 2018. The scholarships will be distributed in the summer of 2018 after the recipients provide confirmation of their enrollment in a college/university.
