Colorado Wheat Outlook Report – May 19th, 2023

Crop conditions and the drought monitor saw improvements this week after some much needed rain. The “excellent”, “good” and “fair” categories all gained points on the conditions report, however, so did the “very poor” category.  This demonstrates the variability in the crop’s condition. There is wheat in the northeast corner of the state that has the potential to make 70 bu/ac, while the abandonment rate in the southeast corner continues to rise.
