2026 Colorado Wheat Field Days

Colorado State University’s Crops Testing Program is hosting the 2026 Wheat Field Days June 10th through the 12th and June 16th. The Field Days will include a walk-through of the official CSU Wheat Variety Trial entries with wheat breeder Dr. Esten Mason, Crops Testing Program director, Sally Jones-Diamond, and seed company representatives. CSU faculty and experts will also share the latest information and research on wheat entomology, pathology, and Colorado Seed Programs.

Detailed Schedule and Directions

Wednesday, June 10th:

-Akron at 8:30 a.m. USDA-ARS Central Plains Research Center.  Directions: Meet at USDA shed north of highway.  From Akron, east on Hwy 34 for 4 mi to CR GG. Turn north on CR GG, and take first turn to west towards shop.  GPS: 40.1536078, -103.1376071

-Yuma at 3 p.m. Andrews Brothers Farms. Directions: From Yuma, go east on Hwy 34 to County Road J. Go north 4.8 miles, then east on a private drive. Field is on the south side, far east trial.

Thursday, June 11th:

-Walsh at 9 a.m.  CSU Plainsman Research Center. Directions (updated): Go to 42790 US-160, Walsh, CO 81090, west side of Walsh at office/shop.

-Brandon (Sheridan Lake) at 3 p.m.  Scherler Farms.  Directions: From Hwy 96 east of Brandon, go north 6.5 miles on CR 59, then west 2.5 miles on CR W. Trial is on the north side of the road.

Friday, June 12th:

-Burlington at 8 a.m. Hinkhouse/Yahn Site. Directions: From I-70 Exit 438, go west on Rose Ave for 0.25 miles to US‑385 N (8th Street). Turn north and go 1 mile to CR W. Go east on CR W for 300 feet. Trials are on the south side of the road.

Hoyt Irrigated at 2:30 p.m. – (New Addition) Cooksey Farms LLC. Directions: From Wiggins, take Hwy 52 south for 12 miles to curve, continue west on Hwy 52 for 2 miles to CR 3/CR 300. Go south4.5 miles, then west .20 miles on trail road.

Tuesday, June 16th:

-Julesburg at 8:00 a.m. Carlson Farms.  Directions: From I‑76 Exit 172 (Ovid), go south on CR 29 for 6 miles to CR 14. Go east on CR 14 for 2.4 miles (or from Hwy 385, go west 5.7 miles on CR 14) to the farmyard and shop on the south side. Plot tour after the meal.
