Colorado Wheat Outlook Report – May 1, 2026

Parts of Eastern Colorado saw rain this week. The moisture was certainly welcome; however, the crop is going to need more in order to make it to harvest. For some, it bought valuable time, while for others it may have been too little, too late. There is a decent chance for more precipitation early next week, but there is also a chance for lows to be at or just below freezing. Given that this crop is running about 2 to 3 weeks ahead of schedule and is already starting to head, freeze damage continues to be a concern.
